Sarah Jane Shiels
When darkness falls, from 11-13 June Lighting Designer Sarah Jane Shiels creates a temporary jaw-dropping lighting installation on the exterior of the main stack of the former Braun ‘Machine Room’. Machine Room Exterior seeks to deconstruct the modernist design of the iconic former Braun building, rejuvenating its presence on the Carlow landscape.

SJ began designing lighting in Dublin Youth Theatre, completing a BA in Drama and Theatre Studies (Trinity), and the Rough Magic Seeds. She was co-artistic director of WillFredd Theatre. SJ is currently studying for a masters in Interactive Digital Media (Trinity).
